Hope Foundation (HF) is a non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit organization officially registered in 2011 with the District Administrative Office of Kathmandu, Nepal, and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC) of the Government of Nepal (GoN).
We are dedicated to creating a non-discriminatory, community-based, and supportive environment that helps individuals bring positive and lasting changes in their lives. Our work focuses on drug use and harm reduction, HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, anti-human trafficking initiatives, and community development.
Our organization is driven by a committed team of professionals and volunteers — many of whom have personal experience with drug use or are living with HIV/AIDS. Their lived experience and compassion form the foundation of our approach to recovery, empowerment, and social change. HF believes that by empowering affected individuals, we can strengthen entire communities. Our guiding motto is:
“To develop the society is to develop the country; to develop the country is to develop the world.”
1. Compassion
We treat every individual with empathy, kindness, and respect, recognizing the challenges they face and providing support without judgment.
2. Integrity
We operate with transparency, honesty, and accountability in all our actions, building trust with the community, beneficiaries, and partners.
3. Empowerment
We believe in enabling individuals to take control of their lives by providing knowledge, skills, and opportunities for growth and self-reliance.
4. Inclusivity
We embrace diversity and work to create an environment free from discrimination, stigma, or exclusion, ensuring equal access to services for all.
5. Community Engagement
We actively involve families, local leaders, and volunteers to foster sustainable change and strengthen societal bonds.
6. Innovation & Best Practices
We adopt evidence-based approaches and continuously improve our programs to provide effective solutions for rehabilitation, harm reduction, and social development.
7. Commitment to Recovery
We are dedicated to supporting lifelong recovery and holistic well-being, helping individuals achieve spiritual, emotional, and social growth.
Promote a non-discriminatory, supportive community lifestyle that encourages positive changes, reduces harm, and fosters spiritual growth among drug users in Nepal.
Empower individuals by providing knowledge, skills, and resources to minimize the negative consequences of drug use, including blood-borne infections, using evidence-based best practices.
Engage policymakers, political leaders, program implementers, and media to create an enabling environment for universal access to health, rehabilitation, and support services.
Deliver effective treatment and rehabilitation so individuals can reintegrate as productive, responsible members of society.
Conduct awareness programs in schools, colleges, communities, and families to reduce stigma and promote understanding of addiction and recovery.
Offer skill development and livelihood opportunities in collaboration with local communities as alternatives to substance use.
We envision a Nepal where every individual has access to comprehensive health services, community development opportunities, and the full spectrum of political, social, economic, and cultural rights. A society free from stigma and discrimination, where people living with HIV/AIDS, recovering from addiction, or affected by social challenges can live with dignity, empowerment, and hope.
We aspire to build inclusive communities that foster equality, provide employment opportunities, and support holistic well-being, contributing to a healthier, stronger, and more resilient society.
